Counseling for Disability & Chronic Illness
As a person with a disability (I am visually impaired), I know how challenging and exhausting it can be to operate in a world that often doesn’t consider your needs. I also understand how emotionally taxing it is to face the complicated losses involved in a new disability or illness diagnosis. These circumstances can pose threats to your very identity and sense of self, the stability of your relationships, your financial security, and nearly every other aspect of your life.
As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), I have extensive experience helping people move through the process of adjusting to a “new normal,” both emotionally and practically. Finding joy and satisfaction while living with a chronic condition is possible.

It’s important to note that this work is about adjusting and, often, grieving. Unlike psychotherapy, adjustment counseling is not about healing psychological injuries, so it is usually shorter in duration than therapy. But, if we discover that deeper therapy is warranted to meet your needs, I might refer you to someone licensed in your state if you are not located in Georgia.
How to begin
The first step is to request a free consultation call to discuss your needs and whether I would be a good fit to help you. This call will also include an overview of costs. Most consultations last about 15 minutes.
